Karen Vaccaro has been an actor for more than 30 years. She has won three Joseph Jefferson Awards for her work in Chicago Theater. Karen performed in the U.S. premiere of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago and On Broadway at the Neil Simon Theater. She created the role of Helen in Sin at the Goodman Theater, and also performed the role Off Broadway at Second Stage. Karen's directing credits include Top Girls, In the Continuum, Speech & Debate and The Women.

As an acting coach Karen has had a long career training actors for 23 years, from the novice to the working professional. She created and taught a professional actor training program at Huron Theater and taught acting at Act One Studios, KV Studios and Spirit Expressing in Chicago. Karen has taught acting at the University of Illinois, Illinois Wesleyan University and Willamette University. She offers private coaching and classes in acting technique, scene study, monologues, audition prep, Shakespeare, acting for the camera, career counseling and the business of acting. Karen also now offers private acting coaching via Skype.
